The main job of cladding boards is to protect the building frame from the elements, such as wind, rain and strong sun.
We offer many types of cladding boards, also called profiled boards – different profiles are made from timber of various sizes: tongue and groove, half tongue and groove, grooved decking boards, sauna bench boards with rounded edges, milled logs for garden houses and more. We can also make custom knife profiles to suit your needs.
Standard profiles are listed below.

For saunas we recommend cladding with a deep tongue and groove. It covers wall gaps when the wood dries out or soaks up moisture, leaving more room for the timber to shrink and swell.
For saunas we recommend cladding in: linden, black alder, aspen.
For exterior cladding: spruce, pine
Sauna benches: black alder, aspen, linden.
Each wood has its own physical and aromatic qualities: black alder gives a cosy feel and a pleasant scent, lime is lighter and whiter, and aspen heats up less, so in a sauna it stays slightly cooler than other woods.
Spruce cracks more but is lighter; pine is the opposite.
