A covered terrace can be used on rainy days too and protects the wooden floor, so it lasts longer. A glazed terrace goes further still – you can use it from early spring to late autumn.
Types of terrace roof
- Polycarbonate terrace roof – transparent, lets light through.
- Metal roof – strong, suitable for longer spans.
- Shingle roof – matches the house roof.
Covered terrace by the house or free-standing
A covered terrace can be built against the house wall – we make these as extensions (see extension catalogue). You can also build a free-standing canopy with a terrace in the garden.
Glazed terrace
For a glazed terrace we build a frame that windows can be fitted into. It's a good alternative to an expensive house extension – you get a bright room to relax in.
Materials and care
- Frame and floor in quality planed timber.
- Grooved decking boards with gaps for drainage.
- Treat the wood with decking oil or paint every couple of years.

How we work: from 3D design to installation
For standard designs, we already have a ready 3D design we can send and show you – you'll see how the finished structure will look before you order.
For non-standard designs, our specialist visits and takes measurements. Then we prepare a 3D design or sketch. Once you approve it, we make all the parts in our workshop, bring them over and install the structure on site.
